it was my first meetup workshop, and I enjoyed it very much. I met some very nice people and the instructions given were hands on. I hope there will be more workshops like this to come

I think it went really well, except for the very cold weather... next time - indoor :)

Nice size group - not too big to prevent individual access to the model; Tsafrir is very knowledgeable and able to explain camera settings, his thought process, and lighting techniques very clearly; the models were patient and very friendly

It was my first meetup group event and it was a blast. It's very nice to meet other enthusiastic photographers. Shot lots of portraits. It's really one of the kind of experience. Thanks for referring to this event.

This was my first Photo Walk with the group. What a great colorful event to participate in. I had such a great time meeting people, shooting photos of the event characters and learning more about this group. Looking forward to the next one.

I dont understand why you would think that people understood it wasn't a scheduled event. It is listed as an event on the group page with notices going out. If it wasn't real, it should have been canceled or deleted and with more notice than a comment the night before. There was no indication that the location wasn't committed...

First, I enjoyed the workshop and thought Mike was an excellent instructor with very good ideas to share. Mike asked for suggestions to help improve the workshops; here are my suggestions: 1. Make it clear the workshop will be held outdoors. SAince we were meeting at the STanford Church and the subject was wedding photogrpahy, I (rashly) assumed we would be working inside the Church. I wished I had a warmer coat. 2. Give a brief description of what will be covered and what the participants hould bring. IN the case, the use of one, two and three portable flashes for lighting; and, suggest the participants to bring as many speed lights as they own. I brought only one of my three and should have brought all of them. Thank, Mike --it was time (and money) well spent. Jim

Mike was very concise and helpful in showing the practical use of off-camera flash for single to multiple setups. His techniques were a great starting point to INSPIRE using flash in new and different ways rather than just a show and tell. The point of experimenting with settings and setups was not lost on me.

it was a great off camera flash light lesson! Mike gave pretty good instructions and tips. Unfortunately, the equipment was all different and we didn't have the RCs for the flash; hence, it was hard to do hands-on.

The pace was very slow and the examples given didn't seem to be very well thought out and categorized. Also, it was extremely beginner level and I think most people there with DSLRs know the basics already. I wish that there were examples of pictures in the slides and descriptions of the settings of the lens and camera that were used. Also, composition is important and I was hoping for more information on that rather than just lenses and how focal length affects zoom.

This was my first time attending this group. Good introduction to outdoor photography, but most stuff presented in seminar seems too basic for me. The lens Mike recommanded are too high ended (most are pro level & heavy lens). If we shoot F8-F11 as Mike suggested for outdoor photography, why we need F2.8 or faster lens which only pro can afford(most over $1000)? I hope Mike can give us a list of middle-level decent lens which good for amateur outdoor photography.

The HDR demo was very good. The seminar on Outdoor photography was disappointing to me as it was very introductory and perhaps 95% of the discussion was irrelevant to outdoor photos but just lens basics. The audience seemed to enjoy it, so maybe I just didnt read the description close enough.
