Hi all,
I'll not be able to make it, since I'll be in Tahoe - Snowboarding, but I thought you should know my friend Sally is organizing a photo walk, it's a fun and great way to meet people and take awesome photos.
Her information page is on:

Please be sure to check on her page for more details! Enjoy and have fun...
Let's do a photowalk in historic and beautiful Pacifica!

MEETING PLACE - 9:30 am:
Salada Beach Cafe
(located in historic Anderson's Store)
220 Paloma Ave.
Pacifica, CA

After coffee, we will proceed up Miramar (behind the store) to the see the Castle. It is not open to the public but hoping we can get some great shots of it. It was built by the lawyer for the old Ocean Shore railroad. Here is more on the castle:

After we leave the castle, we will head back to Paloma Avenue, across the freeway toward the ocean. When we hit Beach Blvd (it's a one-way street), turn onto Beach Blvd to see the longest fishing pier in the state. We can stop there for some great shots.

Next, we will continue on Beach Blvd. toward Sharp Park Municipal golf course. Near the golf course, there is a levi we can walk on. And we will then head to Mori Point:

Next, it's back to Highway 1 to the old Vallemar railroad station. It's also a restaurant, in case we want to eat there:

We will visit the Don Gaspar de Portola Statue (right at Highway 1):

At this point, we will be near Linda Mar Beach. We can stop there for photos, too:

Left at Linda Mar and down 1 1/2 miles to Sanchez Adobe Historic Site. Learn more here:
http://www.cityofpacifica.org/about/history/adobe/default.asp
Other places we can see, if time permits:
Pedro Point (Highway 1 and Danman Avenue)
it's on the levee where the train traveled - unique old house and an old RR station that is now a private home
Shelter Cove (100 steps to access it) near Pedro Point
And search for remnants of the old Ocean Shore Railroad:

My cell is [masked]; please don't abuse it. Only use it for this event.

I have a member who wants to carpool with someone from Santa Cruz. If you can help, please message me. Thanks!
I have made changes to the event, after much consultation with the Pacifica Historical Society. PLEASE BRING EVENT DETAILS WITH YOU. I will provide maps.
Hi Sally, do you have an approx. time on how long this photowalk will take?
I have no idea, Cynthia. My guess is three hours, but you can leave at any time.
guys, have fun tomorrow, please check on Sally's page for compete details. And look for her. I will not make it ... I'm sorry ... going snowboarding...
@Caterpillars: I am leaving from redwood city(whipple). Let me know where you want to be picked up and I give you a ride! (planned to leave from whipple at 8:45AM)
I have put the most recent info here for you. I ask that you print out the event details, and bring with you. I'll provide a map for each driver. My cell is on the event description FYI.
Please try to be on time this morning. We will leave the cafe at 10 am to start our adventure. See you there!

Why don't you upload them here as well? Only takes a few minutes and I'd prefer to see them all in one place (I'm a very busy girl).
Go to the event page. Click the Photos tab and Upload Photos. I'm on my phone so I don't know the exact path, but it's self-explanatory from the event page.
You all are welcome to join us! Our Monterey photowalk in January was a rousing success and we got a ton of great photos. I will check back here for your comments as often as I can. We love meeting all of you at our photowalks and I am happy to help arrange carpooling if you need it.
