Hi all,

This workshop will include two models: Julia and her husband dressed up in a wedding gown and a suit! I will have a small bouquet as well.
This is a GREAT opportunity for anyone who is interested in wedding photography.
You will see how to work with the models, how to pose them, how to communicate to them what you have in mind for the shoot.
they are a beautiful couple! We worked with them before in the engagement shoot, so this is a great opportunity to add the same couple to your portfolio as a wedding couple! You will be able to use this to build your portfolio!
Full Model release will be included.
In this workshop you will have 1:1 time with the models, as well as time to shoot behind me and the other photographers.

I will teach the following:

  • Posing techniques.
  • Working outdoor with available light.
  • Working with reflectors to control the light.
  • Coming up with ideas for the photos.

  • Communicating your ideas for the photo to the models.
  • And much more!!!!

I'm limiting this workshop to 15 people total! I found that in this type of a shoot 15 people works well.
Please sign up as soon as possible - I will not have more then 15 people for this workshop!

Please answer these 2 questions when you signup:

  • What type of camera do you have?
  • Do you have experience working with couples?

This will be a great workshop! The models are wonderful, and very photogenic! The location is great, and I will teach everything I do in a wedding shoot!
See you all there!

A NOTE:
I'm sure a lot of you are wondering... whet will happen if we have a rainy day...
Well, first, think of it this way - what will you do if you are the photographer at a REAL wedding and it starts to rain? will you not take photos? - NO - you will, and they better be damn good!!! :)
Second, It's a GREAT opportunity to get some amazing images IN THE RAIN... simply bring an umbrella, and you are good... :)
Third, we will shoot under buildings, so we are not always exposed to the rain...

Let me know if you have any questions!

This was my first meetup with this group and I had a blast. The members were great. A wide base knowledge, all friendly and polite. Mike was one cool dude. He has an outgoing personality, his instruction was great and exciting. He kept the meetup moving, showed us a lot of neat things to try. It's nice when someone will shoot with you, so you can see what they see, describe how to achieve it . . . and truly be passionate about teaching his students and making the class worth your while.

First of all, thanks to Mike and the models, Julie and John, to taking the time to hold this meetup. For the money, it was a good value. I did pick up some good tips from Mike. He has a good eye and helped the group see the light better. He also gave helpful hints on composition and the use of negative space. I liked his tip on using his hands (i.e. hands held to represent the couple) to instruct the couple, shooting in manual (instead of Av mode), and cropping in camera. I did not hang around for the discussion after the shoot, which would have been helpful. Have to hand it to him throwing his $3K camera/lens rig in the air to get a group shot!

Good presentation of various posing and camera composition techniques. Lighting techniques was limited to the use of reflector but nevertheless informative and practical. It would be added benefit if camera flash techniques to fill/balance light (outside of a studio) were added to the mix. Also, would be helpful (at least for me) if more emphasis on camera settings and techniques were provided such as preventing blown out blue sky or how to achieve a silhouette. Overall, good session for someone who is starting out like me. The models were wonderful and accomodating, especially the bride and that made alot of my photos turned out great no matter what.

I learned a lot about wedding poses and some more lighting. Mike used a fisheye lens and got some great results.

I really enjoyed the workshop. Mike is really a cool guy. He provided various tips not only on the different poses but also on the photo techniques. He showed his way of capturing great moments and inspired us to achieve similar results. He went beyond the photography techniques and shared various small tricks to gain model's confidence.
