You should bring your pocket wizard if you have one. But it is not necessary since I will provide you with one if you don't have one.

Hi, I need practice posing and working with couples. I see that there will be a male model... can we couple him up with one of the female models?

Rosaura, I see you have lot's of ideas, and we will try to work them all out.
This specific workshop is NOT about working with couples. it is about working with studio lights, and props. we might do a very short "couple" session but I'm planning a much better workshop for the next one that will be another engagement photo shoot, this time with models! so you will have that one to play with a couple :)
    I hope this helps.

I tried to upload my photos. But the maximum has been exceeded. Too bad.

It was a lot of fun but somewhat chaotic at times. And the people from the studio seemed to think they had a priority over those of use who paid for this shoot.

Nonetheless, I did get some good stuff. So look for my shots under Rusty Sterling on Flickr.

Mike, I'll send you my shots as soon as I've finished post.

One other thing I would suggest, is tell people to leave their own speedlights and other lighting at home. There were a couple of guys in my group who had their own speedrings and they were quite annoying because they kept shooting during others shoot time and sometimes their flashes interfered with the lighting of the main shooter. I'd

I think it went very well. We had a slight problem with "flaky" models but we got some last minute models and it was a BLAST.
  • Tony Yau, Photographer
Over all it was a fun event, just need to be more organized.
  • Tina Baumgartner
Hi: i rated it a neural, that doesn't mean it wasn't fun but there are a few things that I think need to be changed. Firstly, there were too many people so it got chaotic. Its almost unavoidable. Secondly, I was expecting and hoping for more actual lighting setup experience. It's useful to have the lights already all set up but the learning comes from doing it yourself, playing with it, etc. That means more time at one station and more control over the light. I'd be willing to give up fancy props like cars/motorcycels for that. Thirdly, it would be nice to have a few more small props for the models to engage with. And one last, it would be nice to have a station with a more funky/urban feel to it, maybe a brick wall, wall with graffiti or something like that. Thanks, though. It was fun and everybody was very friendly and helpful.
  • Froukje Brouwer
Very good instructions and Tsafrir was a great help with the settings. I really liked shooting with available light from outsite too. The tunnel was fun! We got a lot out of it, and met some great other photographers, and great models too! The studio is great, and the sets were well set up. The makeup artist was awesome!
  • Robert Jan Ridder / Sharif
This meetup offered a large variety of studio sets, lighting setups and models. We had a lot of fun, made new friends and got some really nice shots out of it. The organizer struck a good balance between keeping things organized and letting people have their way in the shoots. Thanks to Tsafrir and of course to all the models!
  • Eileen
Too many people. The individuals that were a part of the studio would grab the best position to video and direct the models so the people in the group could only shoot. There were a couple of people that butted in to the group shoot and took over and started directing the model while we were shooting.. At one point we were on the green background and someone with a video just said "excuse me" and turned on the lights to video after all our camera setting were already set. It was total chaos. I won't go to another one with that many people. The food and the models were great...I did get some good shots..
